Judging by the posters released by Disney, it is the Warren Ellis version of Moon Knight that has been the model for the series. Actor Oscar Isaac is a great choice, although he occasionally portrays Steven very tame. But when the action kicks in, he’s Moon Knight. The special effects are excellent and it is a joy to see that Egyptian mythology plays a major role in the story. And a lot, a lot, is exactly like in the comics.
Yet the series also deviates from the comics and the question is where Marvel will give the MCU Moon Knight a place. Just like in the theatrical film Eternals , the story begins in London, where apparently all the Marvel action takes place that doesn’t take place in New York. Moon Knight himself also apparently puts a little more emphasis on the supernatural. Although it remains to be seen whether it all really takes place like this, or whether the events mainly take place in Steven’s head.
